Hiram Maina Wachira, PMP®, is a digital transformation strategist and regulatory technology expert with over 15 years of experience advancing public health, digital governance and enterprise regulatory systems across Africa. As Chief Executive Officer and Lead Technical Consultant at Nextrans Solutions Limited, he leads the design and implementation of secure, interoperable and intelligence-driven platforms that strengthen governance, regulatory oversight and institutional performance.

He has spearheaded the deployment of unified medicines and food regulatory information management systems in Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Rwanda and Ghana. This work has supported National Regulatory Authorities in improving operational efficiency, transparency, pharmacovigilance, data management and evidence-based decision-making, while advancing institutional alignment with the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool and Maturity Level 3 requirements.

At regional and continental levels, he has provided technical leadership to AUDA-NEPAD, COMESA and the East African Community on expert management, single-window platforms, regulatory harmonisation and cross-border information exchange. He also champions responsible AI adoption, leveraging automation, advanced analytics and regulatory intelligence to improve decision-making and public service delivery.

His strategic mission is to build a connected African regulatory ecosystem that accelerates local pharmaceutical production, enables intra-African trade and strengthens public health security through sustainable digital innovation.
