Professor Samir Ahid is the founding Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AMMPS). He was appointed to this position by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him.

Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat, he is a specialist in industrial pharmacy and holds several university qualifications in pharmacology and health economics from French and American universities. He is a member of the French National Academy of Pharmacy and the African Academy of Health Sciences.

Professor Ahid is the Honorary Founding Dean of the Mohammed VI Faculty of Pharmacy at Mohammed VI University of Sciences and Health in Casablanca, as well as Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Euromed University of Fez.

Throughout his career, he has held several academic and hospital leadership positions. He notably served as Deputy Director of El Ayachi Hospital in Salé and as Head of the Pharmacy Department at Arrazi Hospital in Salé.

Deeply committed to advancing research and expertise in pharmaceutical regulation, pharmacology, and health economics, Professor Ahid is the founder and former President of the Moroccan Society for Health Products Economics (SMEPS), as well as the founder of the Research Group in Pharmacoeconomics and Pharmacoepidemiology. He also serves as President of the ISPOR Arabic Network for the 2026–2028 term.

Professor Ahid actively contributes to international scientific research. He is an Associate Editor of Value in Health Regional Issues and the author of numerous scientific publications in internationally indexed journals.
