As Chief Executive Officer and Registrar, Dr. Mohamed provides strategic leadership and oversight of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board’s regulatory, governance, and operational functions.

Dr. Mohamed is a seasoned pharmacist and regulatory leader with over two decades of experience in medicines regulation, health systems strengthening, and institutional leadership. He is currently championing regulatory reforms aimed at strengthening Kenya’s regulatory system, strengthening regulatory efficiency and improving access to quality, safe and efficacious health products and technologies.

Education & Expertise

• Dr. Mohamed holds a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Service and Medicine Control from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.
• He is an expert in medicines regulation, regulatory systems strengthening, health systems strengthening, and regulatory harmonisation.

Dr. Mohamed enjoys walking and tree planting, reflecting his appreciation for healthy living and environmental conservation.
