Dr. Mariame Gaye is a Pharmacist Inspector and Head of the Pharmaceutical Regulations Department within the Legal Affairs Directorate of the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP). She is responsible for implementing regulatory activities, particularly those related to the licensing of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical establishments under the Agency’s jurisdiction.
She holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy and began her professional career in community pharmacy before joining the Directorate of Pharmacy and Medicines in 2021, where she worked in the field of pharmaceutical legislation. She later joined the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency, where she held various positions in pharmaceutical regulation and licensing before being appointed Head of the Pharmaceutical Regulations Department.
Her main areas of expertise include pharmaceutical legislation, licensing through pharmaceutical inspection, regulation of pharmaceutical establishments, and strengthening regulatory systems. She also contributes to initiatives aimed at improving regulatory maturity and harmonizing pharmaceutical regulations across Africa.
Dr. Gaye is also a member of Section A of the Senegalese Order of Pharmacists.
