Dr. Waqo Ejersa, OGW, is a seasoned public health and healthcare leader currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA). He brings extensive experience across health systems strengthening, disease programme leadership, supply chain management and public sector administration.

His career spans several senior roles within Kenya’s health sector, including Project Coordinator for the Global Fund Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH), Head of the Division of Non-Communicable Diseases, Head of the National Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Lung Diseases Programme, Head of the National Malaria Control Programme, Provincial Director in the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, and District Medical Officer of Health.

Dr. Ejersa holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Nairobi. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Strategic Planning at the University of Edinburgh, UK. His additional qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from UNDP and a certificate from the Strategic Leadership Development Programme at the Kenya School of Government.

In recognition of his contribution to public service, he was awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) for exceptional performance. He is a member of the Public Health Society of Kenya and the Kenya Medical Association, and is registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
