Dr. Issiaka SOULAMA is the Director General of National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency of Burkina Faso (ANRP). He holds a Pharm degree and a PhD from the University of Ouagadougou, a certificate in genetics and genomics from Stanford University in the United States of America and a certificate in Leadership and Management from Harvard Business School. Dr Issiaka SOULAMA is a visiting researcher at the Broad Institute and Harvard University in the United States. During his career, he served as Secretary General of the National Order of Pharmacists in Burkina Faso.
As a clinical trial expert, Dr. Issiaka SOULAMA led the board of the Clinical trial committee at the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency from 2023-2024 before being appointed as Director General.
He is the author and co-author of approximately one hundred scientific publications and serves as an expert, board member and sits on the scientific committees of several national and international organizations, including the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), the African Research Excellence Fund (AREF). He is the current Chairman of the Regional Committee for the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Harmonization of the West African Economic and Monetary Union
