Managing Director | Strategic Healthcare Executive | Board Director

Robert Mayama is a strategic healthcare executive with over 15 years of leadership experience across the East African medical technology and pharmaceutical sectors. He currently serves as Managing Director of Autosterile East Africa Limited, a Medical Device manufacturing and Health Products and Technologies (HPT) distribution company.

Prior to his current role, Robert led Business Development, Marketing, and Sales for East Africa at B. Braun Medical. His experience spans medical device manufacturing and distribution, commercial strategy, market development, and corporate governance, giving him a practical perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing Africa’s Medical Technology industry.

Robert serves on several boards, including the Medical Technology Industry Association of Kenya (MEDAK), Sawa Sacco, and Undugu Empowerment Programs (UEP). He holds an MBA in Marketing from Kenyatta University, a Bachelor of Business Management from Mount Kenya University, a Diploma in Pharmacy from The Eldoret Polytechnic, and Level 7 Advanced Marketing credentials from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA).

His experience across Manufacturing, Industry representation, and Commercial strategy positions him to contribute meaningfully to discussions on strengthening Local Manufacturing, advancing Africa’s Medical Device industry, and aligning industry priorities to drive sustainable growth and access.
